The Anti-Cardiolipin IgA test measures the level of IgA antibodies against cardiolipin, a phospholipid found in cell membranes. These antibodies are part of the group called antiphospholipid antibodies, which can interfere with blood clotting.
Detecting Anti-Cardiolipin IgA antibodies helps identify autoimmune disorders, especially antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), which can cause abnormal blood clotting, pregnancy complications, and stroke.
