Test Preparation

To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guidelines:

  • Clothing – Wear loose, comfortable clothing for easy access to the legs. You may need to remove garments that cover your legs.
  • Fasting – Not required for this test. You can eat and drink normally.
  • Medications – Continue taking your regular medications unless advised otherwise by your doctor.
  • Hydration – You may be advised to drink water for better imaging, but this is not always necessary.
  • Avoid Smoking & Caffeine – Refrain from smoking or consuming caffeine at least 2-3 hours before the test, as these can affect blood circulation.
  • No Lotions or Oils – Avoid applying any lotions, creams, or oils on your legs before the test, as they may interfere with the ultrasound gel.
