    Description

    Test Preparation

    Fasting:
    o Not usually required, unless advised by your doctor for specific cases.
     Clothing & Accessories:
    o Wear comfortable clothing; a gown may be provided if needed.
    o Remove all metallic objects from the head and neck area, including:
    Earrings
    Necklaces
    Hairpins
    Dentures (if applicable)
    Hearing aids
     Inform the Radiologist If:
    o You are pregnant or may be pregnant
    o You’ve had recent surgery, implants, or injury in the jaw or neck
    During the Procedure:
    o You will be asked to sit or lie down in an oblique position, with your head tilted or rotated to allow a side angle of the jaw.
    o The X-ray beam is directed at the submandibular area from an angle to better visualize the
