Test Preparation
Usually, no special preparation is required, but you may be advised to:
- Remove Metal Objects:
o Take off glasses, earrings, necklaces, dentures, or any facial piercings before the test. - Clothing:
o You may be given a lead apron to wear for radiation protection. - Pregnancy Alert:
o Inform the technician if you are or may be pregnant, due to radiation safety. - Dental Appliances:
o Inform the radiographer if you have any dental implants or braces, as they may affect the image clarity. - Stay Still:
o You will be asked to remain still and possibly hold your breath for a few seconds during the X-ray to avoid blurry images.
