This view provides a clear image of the shoulder’s bony structures to help identify injuries or abnormalities.

Test Preparation

Usually, no special preparation is needed, but keep these things in mind:

  •  Clothing: Wear a loose top or one that’s easy to remove. You may be asked to wear a gown.
  •  Remove Metal Objects: Remove jewelry, bras with metal clasps, or anything metallic around the shoulder or neck area.
  •  Inform the Radiographer:
    o If you are pregnant or might be pregnant
    o If you’ve had shoulder surgery, implants, or recent injury
