An X-Ray Left Hip Joint (AP View) is a diagnostic imaging test that captures an anteroposterior (front-to-back) view of the left hip joint. It shows the femoral head, acetabulum (hip socket), pelvis, and proximal femur. This view helps assess the structure, alignment, and condition of the hip joint.

    Test Preparation

No major preparation is required, but here are some simple steps to follow:

    •  Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothing. You may be asked to change into a hospital gown to avoid clothing artifacts on the X-ray.
    •  Remove metal items: Take off any belts, zippers, metallic buttons, or jewelry near the hip/pelvic area.
    •  Pregnancy: If you’re pregnant or might be, inform the radiology technician. A lead shield may be used for protection.
    •  No dietary restrictions: You can eat, drink, and take medications as usual before the test.
