    Test Preparation

    To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:

    Generally, no special preparation is required. However, the following steps are commonly advised:

    • Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothing or a hospital gown may be provided.
    • Metal objects: Remove all metal accessories like jewelry, eyeglasses, hairpins, or hearing aids near the neck and head area.
    • Pregnancy: Inform the technician if you are or might be pregnant.
    • Medical history: Tell your doctor or technician if you have limited neck movement or previous neck surgeries/injuries.
    During the Test
    • You will be asked to stand or sit upright, facing sideways to the X-ray machine.
    • The technician will position your head and neck for a clear lateral view of the C V junction.
    • You’ll need to remain still while the image is taken.
    • The test is quick and painless, usually completed in 10–15 minutes.
    After the Test
    • You can resume normal activities immediately.
    • The radiologist will review the X-ray and send a report to your doctor, who will discuss the findings with you.
