Test Preparation
To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:
Clothing & Personal Items
• Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your ankles.
• You may be asked to remove shoes, socks, and any jewelry or metal objects from your feet and lower legs.
Medical History & Informing Your Doctor
• Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy, as X-rays involve radiation.
• Let the technician know if you have previous injuries, metal implants, or any medical conditions affecting your ankle.
During the Procedure
• You will be asked to sit or lie on the X-ray table, and your ankles will be positioned for different views.
• The technician will take AP (front) and LAT (side) X-ray images of both ankles.
• You must remain still to avoid blurry images.
• The process takes 10-15 minutes, and results are usually available soon after
