Description
Purpose of the Test:
• To assess the risk of TORCH infections in individuals planning to conceive or already pregnant
• To screen for viral and bacterial infections that can cause birth defects, miscarriage, or fetal abnormalities
• To detect immunity against certain infections (e.g., rubella, chickenpox), which helps prevent complications during pregnancy
• To monitor infections that can affect pregnancy, allowing for early intervention and treatment to minimize risks to both mother and child
Preparation Required:
• No fasting required for the test
• Inform the healthcare provider about any recent symptoms or exposure to infections, especially those linked to TORCH conditions
• Provide detailed medical history, especially regarding previous pregnancies, infections, and vaccinations
