    Test Preparation

    To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:

    General Preparation:

    • Wear loose, comfortable clothing without metal components (or use the hospital gown if provided).
    • Remove jewelry, hair accessories, eyeglasses, and hearing aids.
    • Inform the technician if you have metal implants (pacemakers, spinal rods, screws, plates, or cochlear implants).
    • Avoid makeup, lotions, or hair products, as some may contain metallic particles.

    Fasting & Medication:

    • No fasting required unless contrast dye is needed (your doctor will inform you)
    •  Continue taking regular medications unless instructed otherwise.
    • If contrast is required, inform the doctor about kidney disease or contrast allergies.

    Special Considerations:

    • Inform the technician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
    • If you have claustrophobia, discuss sedation options with your doctor.
    • If you have had prior neck injuries, surgeries, or chronic pain, inform the radiologist for a proper assessment.
