Why It’s Done:
• To detect prostate cancer recurrence, especially when PSA levels rise after treatment.
• To evaluate metastasis or the spread of prostate cancer to lymph nodes, bones, or other organs.
• To assist in treatment planning by identifying precise tumor locations.
• To compare with prior imaging studies for disease monitoring or response assessment.
Preparation:
• Fasting: You may be asked to avoid food and drink (except water) for 4–6 hours prior to the scan.

• Avoid physical exertion: Refrain from strenuous physical activity for 24 hours before the test.
• Medical history: Bring prior imaging reports or scans if they’re being used for comparison.
