CT Enterography Application For Contrast

3,000.00

CT Enterography is a specialized computed tomography (CT) scan used to examine the small intestine with the help of an oral and intravenous (IV) contrast agent. It provides detailed images to diagnose conditions such as:

• Crohn’s disease & other inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD)
• Small bowel tumors, strictures, or obstructions
• Gastrointestinal bleeding sources
• Celiac disease & malabsorption syndromes

This test is less invasive than CT Enteroclysis because it does not require a nasoduodenal tube. Instead, contrast material is ingested orally before scanning.

    Test Preparation

To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:

    • Fasting:
      • No food or drink for at least 4-6 hours before the procedure.
    • Oral Contrast Intake:
      • You will be asked to drink a special contrast solution (such as diluted barium or iodine-based contrast) over 45-60 minutes before the scan.
      • This helps highlight the small intestine for better visualization.
    • IV Contrast Injection:
      • A contrast dye is injected into a vein to enhance blood vessels and tissues.
      • Inform the doctor if you have:
Kidney disease (as contrast dye may affect kidney function)
Allergies to iodine or contrast agents
      Pregnancy or breastfeeding
    • Clothing & Metal Objects:
      • Wear loose, comfortable clothing without metal (zippers, buttons, jewelry).
    • Breathing Instructions:
      • You may be asked to hold your breath for short periods during the scan to reduce motion artifacts.
    • Post-Procedure Care:
      • Drink plenty of water to flush out the contrast dye.
      • Some patients may experience mild diarrhea or bloating from the oral contrast
