Description
Why It’s Done:
• To diagnose allergy to Acacia pollen or plant materials in individuals experiencing symptoms like sneezing, nasal congestion, itchy or watery eyes, skin rashes, or respiratory issues after exposure.
• To identify environmental allergens causing seasonal or perennial allergy symptoms.
• To guide allergen avoidance and develop appropriate treatment plans such as medications or immunotherapy.
• To evaluate suspected triggers in patients with respiratory or skin allergies related to plant exposure.
Preparation:
• For blood tests:
– No fasting or special preparation required.
– Continue medications unless advised otherwise by your healthcare provider.
• For skin tests:
– Avoid antihistamines for 3 to 7 days prior to testing as they can affect test results (consult your doctor).
– Inform your healthcare provider about all medications you are taking.
– Wear clothing that allows easy access to the skin, such as short sleeves.
