CT Angiography Neck (Plain)

A CT Angiography (CTA) of the Neck (Plain) is a non-contrast CT scan that captures detailed images of the blood vessels (arteries and veins) in the neck without using contrast dye.
This scan is useful for evaluating:

  • Carotid artery disease – narrowing or blockages in the carotid arteries
  • Aneurysms – bulging or weakened blood vessels
  • Vascular malformations – abnormal connections between arteries and veins
  • Blood clots or dissections – damage to the blood vessel walls
  • Trauma-related vascular injuries

Since no contrast is used, the visibility of blood vessels may be limited, but it is helpful when contrast dye is not an option due to allergies, kidney issues, or other medical conditions.
