Test Preparation
To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:
Fasting:
•Avoid food for 6-8 hours before the scan.
•Clear fluids (water, black tea/coffee without milk) may be allowed unless otherwise instructed.
Hydration:
•You may be asked to drink extra water before the scan.
•If required, ensure hydration to protect kidney function after contrast administration.
Contrast Considerations:
•Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, diabetes, or iodine-based contrast allergies.
•If you have a history of contrast allergies, pre-medication (antihistamines or steroids) may be needed.
Diabetes & Medication:
•If you take Metformin, you may need to stop it 24-48 hours before and after the scan (as per medical advice).
•Other medications should be taken as usual unless otherwise instructed.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding:
•Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as contrast dye may pose risks.
Clothing & Accessories:
•Wear loose, comfortable clothing without metal zippers or buttons.
•Remove jewelry, belts, and metallic objects before the scan.
