Why It’s Done:
This test is done to:
• Diagnose and classify B-cell lymphoproliferative disorders, such as:
o Non-Hodgkin lymphoma
o Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)
o Other B-cell malignancies
• Differentiate between benign/reactive lymphoid hyperplasia (polyclonal) and malignant lymphoma (monoclonal)
• Monitor disease progression or relapse after treatment
• Assist in evaluating unclear lymph node biopsies or blood/marrow samples
Preparation:
• No special preparation such as fasting is required.
• A sample of tissue, blood, bone marrow, or other relevant specimen is collected depending on the clinical indication.
• Inform your healthcare provider about any recent treatments or medications.
