Anti Cardiolipin Igm

1,000.00

The Anti-Cardiolipin IgM test measures the level of IgM antibodies against cardiolipin, a phospholipid found in cell membranes. These antibodies are part of the antiphospholipid antibody group that can disrupt normal blood clotting processes.
Detecting Anti-Cardiolipin IgM antibodies helps identify autoimmune conditions such as antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), which increases the risk of blood clots, miscarriages, and other vascular complications.

Description

Why It’s Done:

This test is ordered to:
• Diagnose or monitor antiphospholipid syndrome (APS)
• Investigate unexplained blood clotting, recurrent pregnancy loss, or stroke
• Assess autoimmune disorders, especially systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
• Evaluate risk factors for clotting disorders

Preparation:

• No special preparation is required.
• Blood is drawn from a vein, typically in the arm.
• Inform your healthcare provider about any medications, especially blood thinners or immune-modulating drugs.
• Fasting is not necessary.
