• To guide treatment plans for patients with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) or extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB).
• To optimize antibiotic therapy for better treatment outcomes.
• To help prevent the development and spread of drug-resistant tuberculosis strains.
Preparation:
• No special preparation is generally required for this test.
• The test is conducted on clinical specimens such as sputum, tissue, or other samples collected from the patient.
• Patients should follow healthcare provider instructions carefully when providing samples to ensure accuracy.
• Inform the laboratory if you are currently undergoing tuberculosis treatment, as it may influence the test results.
