    Test Preparation

    Here’s how to get ready for the test:

     Clothing:
    • Wear loose, comfortable clothes with short or loose sleeves.
    • You may be asked to wear a gown for easy access to your arms and neck.
     Skin & Hair:
    • Do not use any lotions, creams, or oils on your arms or hands on the day of the test.
    • Wash your hair beforehand and avoid using hair products like gel or spray (electrodes will be placed on the scalp).
    Medications:
    • Most medications can be continued as usual.
    • Inform your doctor about any medications, especially those that affect the nervous system (e.g., sedatives, muscle relaxants).
    • If you’re taking medications for seizures, MS, or nerve pain, your doctor may advise you specifically.
     Food & Drink:
    • You may eat a light meal before the test.
    • Avoid caffeine (coffee, tea, energy drinks) on the day of the test if possible.
     Additional Notes:
    • Inform the technician if you have:
    o A pacemaker or implantable device
    o A bleeding disorder
    o Recent neurological symptoms (e.g., seizures, fainting)
