3,000.00

A Skeletal Survey X-ray is a comprehensive set of X-rays that captures multiple areas of the body to examine the bones for abnormalities, including:

• Skull (AP and Lateral views) – Front and side view of the head
• Whole Spine (AP and Lateral) – Front and side views of the entire spinal column
• Pelvis (AP view) – Front view of the pelvic region

This imaging test provides detailed information about the bones’ structure, density, alignment, and any signs of injury, disease, or abnormal growths.

    Test Preparation

     Before the Test:
    • Clothing: You may need to wear a hospital gown for the exam.
    • Remove metal items: Take off jewelry, eyeglasses, dentures, or anything metallic that may interfere with the X-ray images.
    • Inform the radiographer if:
o You are pregnant or suspect pregnancy
o You have implants, surgical hardware, or spinal support devices
No fasting or medication changes are generally required.

    During the Test:
    • The radiographer will guide you to lie, sit, or stand in different positions to capture each area (skull, spine, pelvis) from various angles.
    • The process is non-invasive and painless, though you may be asked to hold still for a few seconds during each X-ray.
    • The full skeletal survey may take 30–45 minutes depending on the number of views needed.
