X-RAY Right Si Joint (LAT)

300.00

An X-ray of the Right SI (Sacroiliac) Joint – Lateral (LAT) View is a diagnostic imaging test that captures a side view of the right sacroiliac joint, which connects the sacrum (lower part of the spine) to the iliac bone (pelvic bone).

The lateral view helps in evaluating the depth, alignment, and structural changes of the SI joint, which may not be clearly seen in the standard front-facing (AP) view.

    Test Preparation

This test requires minimal preparation. Here’s what you need to know:

     Before the Test:
    • Clothing: You may be asked to change into a gown and remove any clothing covering the pelvic/lower back area.
    • Jewelry & Metal Objects: Remove items like belts, piercings, or any metallic accessories near the waist or hips.
    • Pregnancy: Inform the radiology technician if you are pregnant or may be pregnant—special shielding may be used.
    • Medical Conditions: Let the technician know about any mobility issues, implants, or previous surgeries.
    During the Test:
    • You will lie on your side on the X-ray table with the right side facing up or down, depending on the required angle.
    • The technician will position your body to get the best view of the right SI joint.
    • You must remain still during the exposure, and you may be asked to hold your breath briefly to avoid motion blur.
