X-RAY RGU

An X-Ray RGU or Retrograde Urethrogram is a special contrast X-ray used to visualize the urethra — the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the body.

This test is typically performed in men to detect:
• Urethral strictures (narrowing of the urethra)
• Urethral trauma or injury (often after pelvic fractures)
• Fistulas or abnormal passages
• Congenital abnormalities
• Post-surgical complications

The procedure involves injecting contrast dye into the urethra and taking X-ray images to track how the dye flows through the urethral passage.
