X-RAY Whole Leg Scanogram (AP)

600.00

A Whole Leg Scanogram (AP View) is a specialized X-ray imaging technique that captures a precise length measurement of the entire lower limbs — from the hip to the ankle — in a standing position (usually).

• AP (Anteroposterior) View means the image is taken from front to back.
• This scan is commonly done using three separate exposures stitched together to show the hip, knee, and ankle in a single continuous image

Description

Test Preparation

 Fasting:
o Not required – you can eat and drink normally.
Clothing & Accessories:
o Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes.
o You may be asked to change into a gown to avoid metal artifacts in the image.
o Remove all metallic objects from the lower body, including:
Pants with zippers or buttons
Anklets or leg jewelry
Shoes
Inform the Radiologist If:
o You are pregnant or suspect pregnancy
o You have implants, rods, or plates in the lower limbs
o You are unable to stand unaided (the scan may be done lying down in such cases)
During the Procedure:
o You will be asked to stand straight and still with both legs equally weighted.
o The technologist will position you for 3 exposures (hip, knee, ankle) in a single alignment.
o The X-ray machine will capture images that are later digitally stitched to create a full-leg view.
o In some cases, a ruler or calibration marker may be placed beside the legs for accurate measurement.
