X-RAY Soft Tissue Neck (AP+LAT)

This diagnostic imaging test captures two different views of the soft tissues in the neck:

• AP View (Anteroposterior): Front-to-back image
• LAT View (Lateral): Side image

These views provide a detailed look at the airways, trachea, pharynx, larynx, tonsils, and surrounding soft tissue structures.

    Description

    Test Preparation

     Fasting:
    o Not usually required, unless specified by your doctor.
     Clothing & Accessories:
    o Wear loose, comfortable clothes. A gown may be provided.
    o Remove all metallic items from the head and neck area:
    Necklaces
    Earrings
    Hairpins
    Hearing aids
    Removable dental appliances (if advised)
     Inform the Radiologist If:
    o You are pregnant or suspect pregnancy
    o You have had any neck or throat surgeries
    o You have implants or medical devices in the neck region
     During the Procedure:
    o You will be asked to stand or sit upright.
    o Two X-ray images will be taken — one from the front (AP view) and one from the side (Lateral view).
    o You must stay still and may be asked to hold your breath briefly during each image.
