Description
Test Preparation
Usually, this test requires minimal preparation, but here’s what you should expect:
Before the Test:
• Clothing: You may be asked to change into a hospital gown and remove any clothing or metal objects (e.g., jewelry, belts) near the leg area.
• Pregnancy: Inform the technician if you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy. Although the radiation dose is low, extra precautions may be taken.
• Previous Implants or Surgeries: Mention any metal implants, prosthetics, or surgical history related to the leg.
During the Test:
• You may be asked to lie on your side or stand sideways, depending on the area being X-rayed and the available equipment.
• Your leg will be positioned so the side of the leg faces the X-ray machine.
• You must stay still while the image is being captured to ensure clarity.
• The technician may adjust your leg slightly to get the correct angle.
