Description
Test Preparation
Preparation is simple and straightforward for this test.
 General Preparation:
• No fasting or medication changes required.
• Wear loose, comfortable clothing—you may be asked to remove shoes and socks for the test.
• Remove any metal objects near the foot or ankle (anklets, toe rings, etc.) to avoid interference.
• Inform the radiology technician if you are pregnant or suspect you might be.
On the Day of the Test:
• You’ll be asked to either sit or stand while your right foot is positioned flat on the X-ray plate.
• For the AP view, the foot is aligned so the beam passes directly from the front (top) to the back (heel).
• You’ll need to remain still during the image to ensure clarity.
• The test is quick, painless, and typically takes just a few minutes.
