X-RAY Right Hand (OBLIQUE)

300.00

An X-Ray Right Hand (Oblique) is a diagnostic imaging test that captures the right hand at an oblique angle, meaning the hand is positioned midway between a front (AP) and side (lateral) view—usually rotated at about 45 degrees.

This angled view provides a more detailed image of the spaces between the bones and joints, making it especially helpful for detecting:

• Small fractures or hairline cracks
• Joint dislocations
• Early signs of arthritis
• Soft tissue swelling
• Bone alignment issues

    Test Preparation

This test is quick and non-invasive, and requires very little preparation.

    General Preparation:
    • No fasting or medication changes are necessary.
    • Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the arm and hand.
    • Remove all metal objects from the right hand and wrist—this includes rings, bracelets, watches, or anything metallic.
    • Inform the technician if you are pregnant or might be.

On the Day of the Test:
    • You will be asked to place your right hand on the X-ray table at an angled (oblique) position—usually with the palm down and fingers slightly spread.
    • A technician may use a positioning block to help keep the hand steady.
    • You’ll be instructed to stay still for a few seconds while the X-ray is taken to ensure a clear image.
    • The procedure is quick and painless, usually completed in less than 10 minutes
