X-RAY Right Hand (AP+LAT)

600.00

An X-Ray Right Hand (AP + LAT) is a diagnostic imaging test that includes two views of the right hand:

1. AP (Anteroposterior) View – The X-ray beam passes from the front (palm side) to the back of the hand.
2. LAT (Lateral) View – The hand is turned sideways so the beam passes from one side of the hand to the other.

These two views give a more complete picture of the bones, joints, and soft tissues in the right hand, helping to identify:
• Fractures or bone injuries
• Joint dislocations
• Arthritis or joint diseases
• Infections
• Tumors or bone growths
• Congenital abnormalities

    Test Preparation

This test requires very little preparation, but here’s what to expect:

    General Preparation:
    • No fasting or medication changes needed.
    • Wear loose, comfortable clothing, preferably something that allows easy access to the arm and hand.
    • Remove all metal objects from your right hand and wrist—this includes rings, bracelets, and watches.
    • Inform the technician if you’re pregnant or might be pregnant.

On the Day of the Test:
    • You’ll be guided to place your right hand on the X-ray plate in different positions:
o Flat for the AP view
o Side-on for the Lateral view
    • You’ll need to stay still during each shot to avoid blurry images.
    • The procedure is quick and painless, usually completed within 10–15 minutes.
