300.00

An X-Ray Right Hand (AP) stands for an Anteroposterior (AP) X-ray of the right hand. This means the X-ray beam passes from the front (anterior) of the hand to the back (posterior), providing a clear view of the bones and joints in the right hand from a straight-on angle.

This type of X-ray is commonly done to help diagnose or monitor:

• Fractures or broken bones
• Joint dislocations
• Arthritis or other joint issues
• Infections
• Bone tumors
• Congenital bone abnormalities

    Test Preparation

The preparation is simple and minimal for this test. Here’s what you need to know:

     General Preparation:
    • No fasting or medication restrictions are usually necessary.
    • Wear comfortable clothing that can easily expose your right hand and arm.
    • Remove all jewelry (like rings, bracelets, or watches) from the right hand and wrist, as metal objects can interfere with the image.
    • Notify the technician if you’re pregnant or suspect pregnancy.

On the Day of the Test:
    • You may be asked to sit or stand while placing your right hand flat on the X-ray plate with fingers spread slightly.
    • Follow the radiographer’s instructions to hold still while the image is being taken—movement can blur the results
