An X-Ray Right Forearm (LAT), or Lateral View X-ray, is a diagnostic imaging test used to capture a side view of the bones in the right forearm — the radius and ulna. This view provides detailed insight into bone alignment, joint integrity, and potential fractures, dislocations, or other abnormalities.
This test is commonly recommended for:

• Suspected fractures or bone injuries
• Evaluating healing progress after treatment
• Investigating swelling, pain, or deformities

    Test Preparation

Generally, this X-ray requires no special preparation. However, patients should follow a few simple steps to ensure clear imaging and safety:

     Before the Test
    • Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothing. You may be asked to change into a hospital gown.
    • Remove metal objects: Take off any jewelry, watches, or metal accessories near the arm area, as they can interfere with the X-ray image.
    • Inform the technician if pregnant: If you are or could be pregnant, notify the radiology staff in advance, as extra precautions may be necessary due to radiation exposure.

    During the Test
    • You will be asked to place your right arm in a specific position on the X-ray table.
    • Stay as still as possible while the image is being taken to avoid blurry results.
    • The procedure is quick and painless, typically completed within a few minutes.
