Test Preparation
Preparation may vary slightly by facility, but generally includes:
- Hydration: You may be advised to drink plenty of fluids before the test to help with urine production unless instructed otherwise.
- Emptying the Stoma Bag: You may be asked to empty or remove your urostomy bag before the test begins.
- Inform the Radiographer:
o If you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy
o If you have allergies to contrast dye - Medications: Continue routine medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.
- Consent: You may be required to sign a consent form, as a contrast medium is used.
- No Fasting Usually Needed, but follow any specific instructions from your healthcare provider.
