    Test Preparation

    Generally, no special preparation is needed. However, the following steps should be taken:

    •  Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothing. You may need to change into a hospital gown if your clothes have metal around the head or neck.
    • Remove Metal Items: Remove earrings, hearing aids, glasses, hairpins, or anything metallic around your head and ears.
    •  Inform the Radiographer:
      o If you are pregnant or might be pregnant
      o If you have metal implants in your skull or ears
      o If you’ve had ear surgery or recent head trauma
