Test Preparation

No special preparation is usually needed, but here are a few things to keep in mind:

•  Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes
You may be asked to remove footwear and socks.
•  Remove any metal objects
Remove jewelry or accessories near the foot area, as metal can interfere with the image.
•  Inform the radiologist/technician
If you are pregnant or suspect you might be, always notify the technician beforehand.
•  No fasting or dietary restrictions
You can eat and drink as usual before the test.
