An X-Ray Left Elbow (AP View) is a diagnostic imaging test where the X-ray beam passes from front to back of the left elbow — known as the Anteroposterior (AP) view. The arm is extended and positioned palm-up to capture a clear image of the humerus, ulna, and radius, along with the elbow joint space.

Test Preparation

No special preparation is needed, but here are a few simple steps:

•  Clothing: Wear loose, short-sleeved or sleeveless clothing. You may be asked to change into a gown.
•  Remove metal objects: Take off watches, bracelets, or any metal near the elbow.
•  Inform if pregnant: Let the technician know if you’re pregnant or might be, so protective shielding can be used.
•  No fasting required: You can eat and drink as usual.
