X-RAY Barium Enema (Double Contrast)

4,500.00

An X-Ray Barium Enema (Double Contrast) is a diagnostic imaging procedure used to examine the large intestine (colon and rectum). This test helps detect abnormalities such as polyps, tumors, ulcers, or inflammatory conditions like colitis.

The double contrast technique involves:

  • Barium Sulfate: A contrast material that coats the colon lining, making it visible on X-rays.
  • Air (Gas): Introduced into the colon to expand it, enhancing the visibility of the intestinal lining and detecting even small abnormalities.

This procedure provides a detailed view of the colon, improving the accuracy of diagnosis compared to a standard barium enema.
