Description
Purpose of the Test:
• To diagnose Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
• To evaluate hormonal imbalances and metabolic disturbances associated with PCOS
• To identify insulin resistance and assess the risk of developing type 2 diabetes
• To monitor thyroid function and rule out other conditions with similar symptoms
• To provide guidance on fertility and ovulation health
Preparation Required:
• Fasting for 8–12 hours may be required for accurate insulin and glucose measurements
• Inform the healthcare provider of any medications or supplements being taken, especially birth control, as they can affect test results
• For the ultrasound component, you may be asked to have a full bladder during the procedure
