An MRI Upper Abdomen Venography (MRV) is a specialized imaging test used to visualize the veins in the upper abdomen, including those in the liver, pancreas, spleen, and kidneys. This test helps diagnose blood clots (deep vein thrombosis), vein blockages, varices, or vascular malformations.

A contrast agent (gadolinium-based) is used to enhance vein visibility, making it easier to detect abnormalities.
