    Test Preparation

To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:

    • General Preparation:
      • Remove metal objects such as jewelry, watches, eyeglasses, and belts.
      • Wear loose, comfortable clothing without metal zippers or buttons. You may be asked to change into a hospital gown.
      • Inform your doctor if you have any metal implants, pacemakers, or surgical clips, as these may interfere with the MRI scan.
    • Fasting & Hydration:
      • Some centers may ask you to fast for 4–6 hours before the test, especially if contrast dye is used.
      • You may be asked to drink water before the scan to keep the bladder full, as it can help with imaging.
    • Contrast Injection (if required):
      • A contrast agent (gadolinium dye) may be used to enhance image clarity.
      • Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, allergies, or a history of contrast reactions.
      Sedation (if needed):
      • If you have claustrophobia or difficulty staying still, mild sedation may be provided.
    • During the MRI:
      • The scan can take 30–60 minutes, and you need to lie still.
      • The machine makes loud knocking sounds; earplugs or headphones may be provided.
