Test Preparation
To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:
General Preparation:
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing without metal components (or use the hospital gown if provided).
- Remove jewelry, piercings, watches, and any metallic objects.
- Inform the technician if you have any metal implants (plates, screws, joint replacements, pacemakers, etc.).
Fasting & Medication:
- No fasting required unless contrast dye is used (doctor will inform you).
- Continue taking regular medications unless instructed otherwise.
- If contrast is required, inform the doctor if you have kidney disease or contrast allergies.
Special Considerations:
- Let the technician know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- If you have claustrophobia, discuss sedation options with your doctor.
- If you recently had a knee injury or surgery, inform the radiologist for proper evaluation.
