The Lupus Anticoagulant (LA) Screen is a specialized blood test used to detect the presence of lupus anticoagulants—autoantibodies that interfere with the blood clotting process. Despite the name, lupus anticoagulants are not related only to lupus; they are associated with an increased risk of abnormal blood clotting and are commonly seen in antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) and other autoimmune conditions.
