    Test Preparation

To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:

    • Fasting: Generally, no fasting is required unless contrast dye is used.
    • Clothing & Accessories:
      Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Remove metal objects, jewelry, earrings, hearing aids, or hairpins as they can interfere with imaging.
    • Contrast Dye (If Required):
If contrast is needed, you may be advised to fast for 4–6 hours before the scan.
Inform your doctor about any allergies to contrast dye or iodine.
Patients with kidney disease may need a renal function test before contrast injection.
    • Pregnancy & Radiation Exposure:
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy as CT scans involve radiation.
    • Medical History:
Inform the doctor about any existing conditions like asthma, diabetes, or kidney disease before contrast administration.
    • Breathing & Movement:
The scan is quick (10–15 minutes) and painless.
You may be asked to stay still and avoid swallowing during the scan for clearer images.
