Test Preparation
Do’s:
• Eat and drink normally, but try to avoid a large meal immediately before the scan.
• Wear lightweight, metal-free clothing (e.g., no buttons, zippers, or underwire).
• Empty your bladder before the scan for more accurate measurements.
• Inform your provider if you’ve had recent imaging with contrast (like barium or nuclear scans).
Don’ts:
• Avoid calcium supplements for at least 24 hours prior to the test.
• Don’t wear any metal jewelry or accessories.
• Avoid scheduling after recent contrast imaging procedures (wait 1–2 weeks if possible).
