This test helps determine chromosomal sex by identifying the Barr body, typically present in females (XX) but absent in males (XY).

Description

Why It’s Done:

The test is performed to:

Preparation:

• Fasting:
o Not required. Normal eating and drinking are allowed.
• Before the Test:
o Avoid eating, drinking, smoking, or chewing gum for at least 30 minutes before sample collection to ensure a clean sample.
• Oral Hygiene:
o Brush your teeth or rinse your mouth before the test if instructed.
• Sample Collection:
