Test Preparation
To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:
Fasting:
6–8 hours of fasting is usually required.
Only water may be allowed.
Contrast Dye Precautions:
This test uses intravenous (IV) contrast.
Inform the doctor if you have kidney disease, diabetes, or iodine allergies.
Hydration:
Drink plenty of water before and after the scan to help flush out the contrast dye.
Medications:
Certain medications, like Metformin (for diabetes), may need to be stopped before the scan.
Follow your doctor’s instructions.
Pregnancy Alert:
Inform the technician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Clothing & Metal Objects:
Wear loose, comfortable clothing without metal parts.
Remove jewelry, glasses, hearing aids, dentures, or any metallic items.
Motion Control:
Stay still during the scan for clear images.
