    Test Preparation

To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:

    • Before the Scan:
Fasting: Not required unless otherwise specified by your doctor.
    • Clothing & Accessories:
      • Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
      • Remove metal objects (jewelry, piercings) near the affected area.
    • Medical History:
      • Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy.
      • Mention any allergies to contrast dye or iodine.
      • Discuss any prior surgeries, infections, or skin conditions.
    • During the Scan:
A contrast dye is injected into the sinus tract using a fine catheter.
The CT scanner will capture detailed images to trace the tract or fistula.
The procedure is quick (about 10–20 minutes) and minimally invasive.
You may feel mild discomfort or pressure when the contrast is injected.
    • After the Scan:
Drink plenty of water to help flush out the contrast dye.
Resume normal activities unless instructed otherwise.
Watch for allergic reactions (itching, swelling, difficulty breathing) and seek medical attention if needed.
The results are usually available within a few hours or days.
