    Test Preparation

    To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:

      Fasting: Not required for a plain (non-contrast) scan.
    • Clothing & Accessories:
      • Wear comfortable, loose clothing.
      • Remove metal objects (earrings, glasses, piercings, dentures, hairpins) near the face and head.
    • Medical History:
      • Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy.
      • Mention any previous sinus surgeries or chronic sinus conditions.
    • During the Scan:
      You will lie still on the CT table while the scanner takes images in axial, coronal, and sagittal planes.
      The procedure is quick and painless, taking about 5–10 minutes.
      Breathing Instructions: You may be asked to hold your breath briefly for clearer images.
    • After the Scan:
      No special precautions; you can resume normal activities immediately.
      The results are typically available within a few hours or days.
