A CT KUB (Plain) is a non-contrast computed tomography (CT) scan used to examine the kidneys, ureters, and bladder. It is primarily used to diagnose:

• Kidney stones (renal calculi) and urinary tract stones
• Urinary tract obstructions
• Kidney infections or inflammation (pyelonephritis)
• Bladder abnormalities
• Unexplained abdominal or flank pain

Since this is a plain scan, no contrast dye is used.
