CT Angiography Lower Limb (Plain)

7,000.00

A CT Angiography (CTA) of the Lower Limb (Plain) is a non-contrast CT scan that evaluates the blood vessels (arteries and veins) in the legs without using contrast dye.
This scan helps detect:

  • Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) – narrowing of arteries due to plaque buildup
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) – blood clots in deep veins
  • Aneurysms – abnormal bulging in arteries
  • Vascular injuries – due to trauma or surgery
  • Arterial blockages – that may lead to poor circulation or ulcers

Since this is a plain (non-contrast) scan, it may not provide as detailed images of the blood vessels as a CTA with contrast, but it is useful when contrast is contraindicated (e.g., kidney issues, contrast allergies).

Test Preparation

To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:

Fasting Requirements
• No fasting is required for a plain CTA of the lower limb.
• You can eat and drink normally before the test.
Hydration
• Drink plenty of water before and after the scan to ensure comfort and clearer imaging.
Clothing & Accessories
• Wear loose, comfortable clothing without metal components (zippers, buttons).
• Remove any metal objects (jewelry, watches, belts, piercings) as they can interfere with the scan.
Medication Considerations
• Continue taking regular medications unless instructed otherwise.
• Blood thinners (Aspirin, Warfarin, Clopidogrel, etc.) – No need to stop unless advised by a doctor.
• Diabetic medications (Metformin, Insulin, etc.) – No special restrictions.
Special Considerations
• Pregnancy Alert: If you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy, inform your doctor.
• Claustrophobia or Anxiety: If you have concerns about staying still during the scan, inform your doctor for possible sedation options.
• Implants & Medical Devices: Let the technician know if you have any metal implants, pacemakers, or vascular stents.
