Test Preparation
To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:
- Fasting:
• Avoid food for 4-6 hours before the scan.
• Clear liquids (water, black tea/coffee without milk) may be allowed unless advised otherwise. - Hydration:
• Drink plenty of water unless restricted by your doctor.
• If an oral contrast is required, you may need to drink a special contrast liquid before the scan. - Contrast Considerations:
• Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, diabetes, or iodine-based contrast allergies.
• If you have a history of contrast allergies, pre-medication (antihistamines or steroids) may be needed. - Diabetes & Medication:
• If you take Metformin, you may need to stop it 24-48 hours before and after the scan (as per medical advice).
• Other medications should be taken as usual unless otherwise instructed. - Pregnancy & Breastfeeding:
• Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as contrast dye may pose risks. - Clothing & Accessories:
• Wear loose, comfortable clothing without metal zippers or buttons.
• Remove jewelry, belts, and metallic objects before the scan
