The Anti-Thyroglobulin Antibody (Anti-Tg) test is a blood test that detects antibodies against thyroglobulin, a protein produced by the thyroid gland used to make thyroid hormones. The presence of these antibodies indicates an autoimmune response targeting the thyroid.
Elevated Anti-Tg antibodies are commonly found in autoimmune thyroid disorders such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and Graves’ disease. The test helps assess thyroid autoimmunity and may be used to monitor disease progression
